Summary of "Volume 2 - Great show, good set!": When I watch this show I ask myself one question over and over; why didn't I watch this before? This series, as well as Batman: The Animated Series is awesome. The writing is great, the animation is great... everything is top notch. I don't even view this as a show aimed at kids, though they watched it. I absolutely love when I get to sit down and watch one of the DC animated shows...though I tell my girlfriend I have to do it for "work."
If you dig superheros and cartoons then you have to watch this; it's damn good! (read entire review)
Summary of "Volume 1 - Go Supes!": I ended my review of the previous 1 disc set wondering if it would be used to test the waters for a larger release. Looks as though I were right, and Warner Bros was smart not to duplicate the extras on the previous release; it gives fans a reason to hold on to the first disc.
I can't believe I missed a cartoon as slick as this when it was first broadcast. I was impressed with the "Last Son of Krypton" release, and the continuation of the series in this set has me hooked. The style of animation is wonderful, and the stories are fun, but also serious. The embossed Superman on the front of the package is a classy touch as well. If you've a fan of the Man of Steel, or superheros, pick this set up. (read entire review)
Vol 01: Last Son of Krypton - Brainiac lied! (2/11/2004)
Summary of "Vol 01: Last Son of Krypton - Brainiac lied!": I feel as though Warner Bros uses releases like this to test the waters before considering a season set. There are other companies that try to gauge consumer interest by releasing a "best of" set, but this is better since it allows them to either release a season 1 set, or possibly continue the series with single disc volumes containing episodes in order. The series itself has grabbed my attention; the first 2 episodes seem to be geared towards an older audience as they deal with more mature themes.
This is worth picking up, and hopefully Warner Bros will continue to release the series. (read entire review)
