Summary of "Season 1 - Rockin' Robin Hood": After watching the set I have to wonder why so many people, at least people I spoke to, hated the show. I thought it was a lot of fun, with some decent sword-play, some funny lines, and a good story. Maybe people took issue with some of the material being updated to reflect the current world situation, but I found the show to be extremely entertaining. Some parts were a tad cheesy, but it wasn't over-the-top like Hercules or Xena... I'd call it "playful."
The DVD set was very good, combining behind-the-scenes material and informative commentary tracks to make a well-rounded set. I wish there was a chapter after the opening of the show, and the 5.1 audio was default, but those are both somewhat minor complaints. The video compression is a bigger issue, and could have been avoided by bumping up the quality of the video, and reconfiguring the contents of the discs.
I'm glad I took this little trip to Sherwood Forest, and I hope to return there for another season of Robin Hood. (read entire review)
