Summary of "The Complete 1st Season (CAN) - Just what I wanted!": Canadians sure lucked out with this release. Awesome audio and beautiful HD video aren't the only things to be happy about with this release; it's also a cheap way to get the entire first season. Currently $30 on Amazon.ca ($40 SRP), it's much cheaper than buying the Canadian DVD volumes ($46 for both volumes), and cheaper than the US Disney volumes (approx $50 for all 4 volumes). That makes this an exception deal... if you don't own any of the previous sets.
This is definitely on my "must watch" list for future DVD/BD releases. Hopefully future BDs will come out around the same time as the DVDs, as this was a bit of a wait, which likely means many fans have bought the DVDs. If you're a fan of the show, and live outside Canada, definitely look into buying this from Amazon.ca. They'll ship to you in the US (or elsewhere), and the disc will play fine in your BD player (Canada and the US are the same region). The extras aren't exciting at all, but the presentation is top-notch. (read entire review)

Summary of "Volume 2: Captain America Reborn - One of the best...": I was lucky that my wife sleeps with earplugs so I didn't have to worry about waking her up with my early-morning viewing of this disc. I like watching shows that use 5.1 loud, and this show just sounds so good. The final 6 episodes of season 1 were as good as the first 7 on Volume 1. Excellent show!

Summary of "Volume 1: Heroes Assemble! - Awesome show!": What an awesome, awesome show. I don't think I've been this excited about watching a cartoon since I saw Oban Star-Racers, and that was a few years ago. This is definitely a more mature cartoon than I was expecting; there aren't silly childish jokes, and quite a bit of violence. The audio and video on this set are top-notch.
I really enjoyed these first 7 episodes; they slowly introduced characters, then brought them all together. The show doesn't cover how each hero got their powers, which is a good thing; it's a story about how the Avengers became a group. I'll admit to not being as familiar with the group as some others (such as The X-Men), so I didn't really know what to expect when I sat down to watch it.
The only way they could release a better set would be on Blu-ray, and I haven't heard of any plans for that (though I'd absolutely love it if they did - HINT HINT Disney!). This is an outstanding presentation of an excellent show, go out and buy this (and Volume 2, releasing the same day). (read entire review)
