After teasing us for
over a year, HBO has finally set a date for the third season of
The Wire. We can expect the 5-disc set to be released on
August 8, for a suggested price of $99.98. HBO is also lowering the price of the first two seasons to $59.99 each on June 6, giving fans that held off purchasing the sets a chance to get them at a reduced price before picking up season 3. The episodes will be presented in Full Frame (1.33:1), and contain English Dolby Digital 5.1 and Stereo tracks, and Stereo Surround tracks in English, French and Spanish. We've heard that season 4 will air sometime in September.
