White Collar - Date, Packaging, Extras and More for Fox's 'Season 2' Set!

Coming to DVD (but not Blu-ray, sorry!) in early June

Posted by David Lambert
Compelling characters and thrilling plot twists make "WHITE COLLAR" one of television's slickest, sexiest shows! Matt Bomer returns as sophisticated conman Neal Caffrey, who teams up with FBI Agent Peter Burke (Tim DeKay) to investigate an intriguing array of crimes ranging from extortion to murder. Now, reeling from the death of his girlfriend, Neal struggles to unlock the secret behind a mysterious music box and find Kate's killer, even as his partnership with Peter begins to crumble.
We reported back in September that had begun taking advance orders for a DVD release of White Collar - Season 2, even though Fox Home Entertainment had not formally announced the title at that time. Now Fox has made it official at last! They are showing that this set, costing $49.98 SRP, will be available on June 7th. Bonus material on this set includes: "a spotlight on fan-favorite Mozzie, behind-the-scenes with Matt Bomer, 'White Collar Roasts Burn Notice,' 'Burn Notice Roasts White Collar' and a hilarious gag reel." Package art can be seen below.

Note that there is ONLY a DVD format release this time around; there will not be a high-def Blu-ray Disc version like there was for the first season of this show. Although Fox hasn't provided an official reason for this decision, we've heard through the grapevine that sales of the Blu version for season one were drastically below expectations. If that's the case, then it's clear the studio could not justify producing the new season in the high-def format, especially since BD versions cost more to produce in the first place.
