This past Summer, CBS and Paramount Home Entertainment released
Walker, Texas Ranger - The Final Season. While every fan was glad to see the show come to DVD, a significant number of them were upset about this release, because they wanted to start their collection of season sets with the beginning of the show's run, rather than the end of it.
The studio aims to satisfy everybody with an upcoming release of
Walker, Texas Ranger - Season 1 on DVD in 2006. That's the title we've been given, word for word. However, we're aware that episode guides for this show, including
the one at TV.com, show that the "first season" only consisted of 3 episodes, while the second season consisted of 24 episodes. Frankly, fans were hoping more for a "Seasons 1 and 2" set, but this may just be a matter of word choices (i.e., perhaps - and we're just theorizing here - the studio is planning putting twenty-seven episodes on this set and just calling that "the first season").
Only time - and a studio announcement - will tell what exactly the contents of this release will be. But we wanted to give fans the heads up that this is indeed on the radar scope, and we'll bring you more information once the studio makes it formal. Stay tuned!
