Our friends over at RightStuf.com have gotten the word from Media Blasters:
Voltron: Defender of the Universe - Collection 8: Sea Team, which will be the final DVD release for the Vehicle Force
Voltron episodes, is scheduled to be available starting on
March 31st. We're actually guessing that the box art will feature the sea team (a.k.a. Aqua Fighter group), because that's the only one of the three groups not shown on the cover art so far.
RightStuf's info basically just has the "Collection 8" title and release date right now. Plus a running time of 450 minutes, which would have been supplied to them by Media Blasters. We're have to question that, though, because the first Vehicle Force release is 18 episodes at 450 minutes, and the second one is given a 450-minute timestamp as well (per pre-release info). If they're all 450 minutes, then logically they're all 18 episodes, which means 54 total episodes. But Vehicle Force
Voltron only had a total of 52 episodes, so somebody's not counting right!
That's just a nit-pick, though; we're sure it will all become clearer once the full info comes to us through Media Blasters and World Events. Either way, this will finish off all of the installments of
Voltron: Defender of the Universe on DVD, including the Lion Force/Vehicle Force team-up installment
Fleet of Doom. If you haven't added that to your collection yet, then you can
order it from Amazon. Or, you can head on over to Voltron.com and get it on sale for half price at the moment; just $9.95 (plus any applicable shipping and tax).
We're still waiting on details and cover art for
Collection 8, as well as finalized extras for
Collection 7 as well. Stay tuned and we'll keep you posted! Our thanks to Speedy Boris and our other friends at ToonZone.net for the heads-up about RightStuf's info.
