Fans have been ordering the 'Matrix of Leadership Set'
directly from Shout! Factory for over a month now, and now we have word that the set is hitting retail store shelves on
October 13, at least in Canada (the information came to us from Vivendi Entertainment Canada, Shout! Factory's Canadian distributor).
Shout! has confirmed the Canadian release date, but has said the US date will be a week later, on
October 20 (the same day that
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen comes home from theaters). Suggested retail prices for both countries is $169.95, higher than the $140 Shout! Factory is currently selling the set for on their site. The release date and price match up with a
listing at Amazon.com for a Shout! Factory set, code-named "Bedtime for Blum" (Brian Blum is one of the DVD producers at Shout!), leading us to believe this is the
Transformers set,
in disguise. At the current Amazon price of $151.99 (10% off), there's no incentive to wait until October for the release when
you can get the set directly from Shout! Factory right now.
