Early this past week we
reported that
June 17th would see the first DVD release from the new Cartoon Network
Transformers: Animated series. We told you at the time that the disc would contain the first triple-length story, officially called "Transform and Roll Out!"
Hasbro and Paramount Home Entertainment have apparently decided to officially call this release simply "
Transformers: Animated - The Movie," however, and that is demonstrated both by the
Amazon pre-order listing that's just been posted yesterday, and also by the early cover art that was sent out to retailers soon after the initial announcement.
That picture was clearly marked "Artwork Not Final", and we've held off showing it for a few days to see if the studio would reveal the final cover art in the meantime. Since they haven't, we've decided to show you what we have at the moment, so you can get a feel for the direction they're heading with this. Note that it is a medium-resolution shot at best, and we've intentionally reduced it in size a bit to keep it looking decent (the shot we received from retailers had loads of pixelization). We've also watermarked it with our site logo, to protect it from being used elsewhere without credit given to us. Anyway, here is what we've got today, and stay tuned because we plan to update you when we get the final, high-resolution artwork in!
