As we've reported, Transformers: Animated - Transform and Roll Out! comes out on DVD from Hasbro/Paramount on June 17th. This is the triple-length pilot for Cartoon Network's newest show in the long-running franchise.
This past weekend in Cincinnati, fans gathered for the BotCon 2008 convention. We've gotten reports from several readers who attended in person, such as Ben Harpold and Jeff Daniel. Jeff tells us that "Hasbro was giving away posters saying that the entire Season 1 of Transformers Animated will be released on DVD in August," and Ben clarifies that "it was unofficially announced that Transformers Animated Season 1 will be out in August...it will not include the Roll out Animated movie, and as of now no extras will be included (subject to change)"
Craig Crumpton (also of ToonZone.net) tells us that a report at a fan website he participates at, TFW2005.com, contains this information, too. The write-up there states that the August release "includes all episodes from "Home is Where the Spark is" to "Megatron Rising Part 2", and so will not duplicate the content of the June release. It also states that there is no bonus material currently made for either release, but that there is still time for that to possibly change for the Transformers: Animated - Season 1 release.
We also got a note from reader Steven Sarp that another fansite, Tformers.com, states that ""June is the TF Rollout DVD release and in Aug the rest of Season 1 will be out on DVD. You have to buy both DVDs to have the complete season." They also had no word of any bonus content yet for the season set release.
