Touched by an Angel - CBS/Paramount Answers Fan Prayers, Announces The 5th Season!

With the last DVD release of the show starring Roma Downey and Della Reese occurring 5 years ago, in 2007, some fans had begun to lose faith that CBS/Paramount would complete the show's 9-season run! But they never stopped praying for this stalled series to get back on the path, and it seems to have worked at last: this morning the studio has announced that Touched by an Angel - The 5th Season will arrive in stores on July 24th! We only have that date so far, and no other details to go with it (not even pricing so far). Nor cover art, for that matter, although we do have the studio-provided description quoted below. Stay tuned, however, and we'll try to update you just as soon as we can!

A trio of angels Monica (Roma Downey), Tess (Della Reese), and Andrew (John Dye) are dispatched from heaven with a special mission: to inspire people facing sometimes unseen crossroads in their lives. Monica, an angel who at times still needs some guidance with her earthly assignments, reports to Tess, her tough, wise and always loving supervisor. Also on hand is Andrew, who, in addition to his duties as the Angel of Death, now helps out as a caseworker on carious assignments. Gloria, an angel for the 21st century, continues to seek guidance from Monica performing her angelic duties. While the angels may not bring solutions to every problem, they always deliver a message of hope.
