Timeless - North American Release Date Found for 'Season 1' of NBC's Show

Mid-September release date, according to (Canada)

Posted by David Lambert
From Eric Kripke ("Revolution," "Supernatural"), Shawn Ryan ("The Shield") and the producers of "The Blacklist" comes this thrilling action-adventure series in which a mysterious criminal steals a secret state-of-the-art time machine, intent on destroying America as we know it by changing the past.

Our only hope is an unexpected team: a scientist, a soldier and a history professor who use the machine's prototype to travel back in time to critical events. While they must make every effort not to affect the past themselves, they must also stay one step ahead of this dangerous fugitive.

Can this handpicked team uncover the mystery behind it all and end his destruction before it's too late? The cast includes Abigail Spencer, Matt Lanter, Malcolm Barrett, Goran Visnjic, Paterson Joseph, Sakina Jaffrey and Claudia Doumit.
This past October, NBC debuted the highly-anticipated science fiction series Timeless, starring a team of good guys traveling in time to stop bad guys led by "Garcia Flynn" (ER's Goran ViĆĄnjic) from changing time using a time machine he stole from the agency which is chasing him. The program was generally well received (personally, I loved it!), but cost so much to produce that roughly three months after the finale of the 16-episode first season had aired, NBC decided to cancel the show. Three days later, however, NBC reversed their decision and un-cancelled it, "changing time" for the fans! Now a 10-episode second season is planned for 2018.

The episodes for the first season brought us to different eras in history. But also brought us great guest stars. Matt Frewer (Max Headroom, Eureka, The Librarians, Orphan Black) had a recurring role. We also saw Shantel VanSanten (One Tree Hill, The Flash, Shooter), Hiro Kanagawa (iZombie, Heroes Reborn, The Man In The High Castle), Robert Pine ("Sgt. Getraer" of CHiPs), Chris Mulkey ("Hank Jennings" of Twin Peaks), Armin Shimerman ("Quark" of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), and Misha Collins ("Castiel" on Supernatural).

We're still waiting on the studio to officially announce a DVD release of Timeless - Season 1, but in the meantime Amazon's Canadian site has added a pre-order listing showing that September 19th is the release date - at least up north of the border - for this title. The entry gives a price of CA$35.99 SRP, for a 4-disc set coming from Sony. Nothing is shown of extras (if any), or package art. Nor is a Blu-ray entry show, at least so far. And this information may not be finalized, and could possibly change. Stay tuned, of course, for updates! Our thanks to a sharp-eyed reader, "Kaysen," for the tip about this item.
