Teen Titans - The Warner Archive Reveals Plans for 'The Complete 1st Season' Blu-ray

High-def release of the title originally put out on DVD in 2006

Posted by David Lambert
In 2018, DC Comics plans to launch a new digital streaming service. So far there's no name, no pricing, and no launch date. However, we know about a few of the shows being planned for the service. Expect an animated series featuring "Harley Quinn"...this time without her "puddin'," The Joker, but instead teaming up with her BFF, Poison Ivy. There's also a long-awaited third season of a fan favorite animated series, titled Young Justice: Outsiders.

But the series folks may be looking forward to the most is a live-action program, Titans. It will star Brenton Thwaites (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) as "Dick Grayson/Robin," Anna Diop (24: Legacy) as "Koriand'r/Starfire," Ryan Potter (Big Hero 6) as "Garfield Logan/Beast Boy"), Teagan Croft (Home and Away) as "Raven," Alan Ritchson (Smallville) as "Hank Hall/Hawk," Minka Kelly (Friday Night Lights) as "Dawn Granger/Dove," and Lindsey Gort (Lucifer) as "Police Detective Amy Rohrbach." Its first season is planned for 13 episodes, and it is from many of the same people who bring you shows like The Flash.

With that in-the-works, fans of the team's first Cartoon Network animated series, Teen Titans, are going to be wanting to celebrate and enjoy that show all over again. And we've learned something from a Warner Archives Instagram post made this afternoon. That in early 2018 (no specific release date has been provided yet), the MOD (manufacture on demand) seller will make available a high-def Blu-ray release for Teen Titans - The Complete 1st Season. The title was first released on DVD format over a decade ago, in 2006, but now fans will be able to enjoy it on BD! Package art is shown below, but we don't have details or pricing just yet. Stay tuned!
