Fans of the classic sitcom starring Danny De Vito, Tony Danza, Judd Hirsch, Andy Kaufman, Christopher Lloyd, Marilu Henner and Jeff Conaway have been feeling like they've been cheating out of their fare. CBS DVD and Paramount Home Entertainment last released a season set of
Taxi in September 2004, the third of the show's five-year run. In the meantime we've heard from many a reader, wondering when the studio would release the final two seasons of their favorite show. Well, it looks like the flat is fixed, the gas tank is full, and the engine is finally humming again!
This morning CBS/Paramount have announced that
Taxi - The 4th Season will be released on DVD at last this
September 22nd, a week or so after the four-year anniversary of the third season's release. You'll get 24 episodes, including the two-part season finale, on a set running 581 minutes long. Guest stars include Martin Short, Melendy Britt, Rhea Perlman, Jack Gilford, Barbara Babcock, Ernie Hudson, Carol Kane, Ted Danson, Bubba Smith, Vincent Schiavelli, Dr. Joyce Brothers, Wendy Phillips and Tom Hanks (yes, THAT Tom Hanks!). Video is full frame, and audio is English mono. It is closed captioned for the hearing impaired. No other details or pricing is available yet, but we do have the package art to prove that we're not making this stuff up! Enjoy:
