Survivor - Blu-ray Releases Planned for the 26th, 27th, 28th, and 29th Seasons

No availability date yet, but Amazon is taking advance orders for the Blu-rays

Eighteen all new castaways, each with a loved one playing with and against them, compete for glory in SURVIVOR: San Juan del Sur - Blood vs. Water, in the 29th season of the long-running reality series, arriving from CBS Home Entertainment. Former MLB pitcher John Rocker and his girlfriend, twin sisters and "The Amazing Race" contestants Natalie and Nadiya Anderson, a married cop and firefighter, as well as a cheerleading mother and daughter team, are among the nine pairs of loved ones vying for $1 million dollars and Sole Survivor status.

Separated into two tribes, the brutal battle of blood vs. water kicks off on day 1 as a husband and wife face off in the season's first challenge. In an ongoing, merciless twist, loved ones square off against each other at Hero Arena. The winner claims reward for their tribe, while their loved one is sent away to Exile Island, separated from their tribe until the next challenge.
We had the heads-up this past Monday that an MOD (manufacture on demand) DVD release was in-the-works for Survivor - Season 29: San Juan del Sur - Blood vs Water. Since then Amazon's CreateSpace MOD program has also added a pre-order listing (see button link below, along with package art) for a high-def Blu-ray version of the title, too!

The title is priced at $39.95 SRP, just five dollars more than the DVD version. And, just like the DVD version, this 4-BD set doesn't have a release date yet, either; Amazon's listing merely says, "This title has not yet been released. You may pre-order it now and we will deliver it to you when it arrives." You can pre-order it now, though, and wait for it to ship.

Be aware, however, that 4 other Survivor seasons (#'s 22-25) have been taking pre-orders for Blu-ray versions since early December of last year, and none of these have been released yet. What about Blu-rays for Season 26: Caramoan - Fans vs. Favorites, Season 27: Blood vs Water, and Season 28: Cagayan? Well, Amazon/CreateSpace JUST began taking pre-orders for those, too! The Amazon.com button link below will link you to all three of those, plus San Juan del Sur, on high-def Blu-ray. And we've got box art for all four BD versions under that.

But wait, should you worry that the long-awaited Survivor Blu-rays will never come? Has Paramount actually delivered on any "MOD BD" titles yet? Why yes, yes they have! Last December Paramount released an MOD BD for Nickelodeon's House of Anubis - Season 1, and just last week Paramount released Comedy Central's Inside Amy Schumer - Season 3 as an MOD BD title. So there's no reason to think that CBS/Paramount won't get us these Survivor MOD BDs (as well as some MOD BDs planned for The Amazing Race, too!) as soon as they possibly can. Stay tuned!
