We've received a flurry of emails about a rumored big box set, and they all link to a news item on the
SciFi.com website. The misleading news item makes it sound as though Sony has plans to release all 8 seasons in 1 big box for less than $50, but that's not right. These are the slim sets
we told you about a few weeks ago, not a big box set. Below is the original Sci-Fi news item, along with our "corrected" version of their news item.
Stargate DVD Set Due (original)
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will celebrate the 10th anniversary of Stargate SG-1 with the release of the show's first eight seasons in a special DVD collection due June 13.
The Stargate SG-1 DVD collection contains the complete episodes for all eight seasons, along with extra content including two featurettes, "The Directors' Series" and "Beyond the Gate." Stargate SG-1 seasons one through eight will each be available for a suggested retail price of $49.96.

Stargate SG-1 seasons one through eight will be available for a suggested retail price of $49.96 each.
