Fans of
The Upright Citizens Brigade aren't the only ones to mourn a DVD schedule change this morning. Last Tuesday we
had the news about an August 28th release date for
South Park - The Complete 10th Season on DVD. Now it, like
Upright Citizens Brigade, is back off of Paramount Home Entertainment's August schedule.
Why? In the case of
South Park, it's probably making a
Prison Break-type of move, we would guess: trying to get out of the way of Universal's August 28th release of the first season for the super-hot show
Heroes. We foresee every DVD release of an ongoing show, no matter how big it is, staying out of the path of that particular package, which is expected to do very well. In fact, it's probably Warner who's playing it smart, tying in DVDs of their animated
Legion of Super-Heroes and
Samurai Jack programs with that street date.
The studio did not immediately respond to our attempts to get more information about the change in plans, so this is simply our take on the matter. We, and our friends in the retail side of things, are sure that
South Park - Season 10 will be back on the schedule soon, just a few weeks later. Stay tuned.
