A few weeks ago we passed along
early word from South Park
Studios that April 26th
will be the release date for DVD and high-def Blu-ray Disc versions of South Park - The Complete 14th Season
. Today Paramount Home Entertainment confirmed that date for both formats of the title, and provided lots of additional information as well. One of the main questions seems to have been answered with the studio description that we're quoting above: it says that ALL FOURTEEN EPISODES will be found on the home video release. We have to take it at its word, then, and assume they mean that the two-part controversial story in the episodes called "200" and "201" will indeed be included.
Both the DVD and Blu-ray releases will run 308 minutes, and they include the traditional Mini-Audio Commentary by Trey Parker and Matt Stone on all episodes. The 2-disc Blu-ray version is presented with high-def widescreen video, English 5.1 Dolby TrueHD audio, and English subtitles. The 3-disc standard DVD-formatted version of the title has widescreen video, English 5.1 Surround Sound, and English subtitles.
Comedy Central and Paramount Home Video have NOT finalized the package art for these releases yet. Below you'll find some temporary artwork that was sent to retailers for this title; we're not sure how close it is to what will eventually be found on store shelves. But we're sharing it with our readers, just in case this turns out to be "it." If not, then we'll update you with the finished packaging shots, once they are circulated. Stay tuned for that!
