Last October, when Paramount Home Entertainment
announced the
February 5th DVD release of
Soul Food - The Complete 3rd Season, we mentioned how their info said that this would be a 4-DVD set running 16 hours 34 minutes for 20 episodes, but how we were confused by that info as the third season of this show should only consist of 10 episodes! The fourth season is also ten episodes, and the fifth (and final) season is fourteen episodes, as compared to the first two seasons being twenty episodes long each.
At long last we have the answer for you! Our own Gord Lacey has the actual package for this release, and he can testify that this set - although printed on the box it gives a (very obviously-wrong) running time of 6 hours 33 minutes - actually contains 20 episodes (from the 3rd and 4th broadcast seasons)...on *5* DVDs (not the 4 originally indicated by the studio release info). The actual running time varies between episodes (for instance, "Tonight at Noon" is 47 minutes while "Past Imperfect" is 54 minutes). Here is the disc-by-disc breakdown of episode titles, followed by cover art:
- Disc 1:
- "Tonight at Noon"
- "Ultimate Power"
- "Past Imperfect"
- "Out With the Old..."
- Disc 2:
- "Empty Spaces"
- "Stranger Than Fiction"
- "Child Safety"
- "Let's Do It Again"
- Disc 3:

- "Life 101"
- Disc 4:

- Disc 5:
