This past November
we told you about Warner Home Video's plans to celebrate 50 years of Warner Television. And they are ready to celebrate with a year full of new releases, including new-to-DVD TV shows like
Full House, Night Court, Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Murphy Brown, The Jamie Foxx Show, The Wayans Brothers, The Adventures of Superman, Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Chico and the Man, and
The Oblongs. We are now pleased to bring you a list of Warner TV Series that will be participating in Warner's 50th Anniversary promotion:

Note that this list doesn't seem to be a complete list. One title missing from it is
Maverick, which we've
previously reported (thanks to correspondent Pavan Badal) as being mentioned in a Warner press release as a DVD title which will be promoted as part of the anniversary celebration. So perhaps we'll see updated versions of this form as the year progresses.
As we talked about in the initial news story, one of the central points of this promotion is an escalating mail-in rebate: the more participating season sets you buy, the bigger your rebate! Buy 2 sets and receive $10 back, 3 sets gets you $20, $30 if you buy 4, $40 for 5 and you'll get $50 back if you purchase 6 sets.
A link to the rebate form for this promotion has just been added to the Amazon listings for participating titles (including February 8 releases like
Full House, Night Court, Fresh Prince, etc.). When you
look at the form (.pdf format: Adobe Acrobat Reader required), you'll see where we got the above list the Warner shows whose DVDs will be part of the rebate promotion. But you don't have to wait until next month...the rebate is active since January 1, 2005 on any qualifying title in the list above. Already-released titles like
Friends, Babylon 5, The O.C., The West Wing, V: The Series, ER and
Smallville are all up for grabs right now, while you've still got gift cards left over from the holidays.
Moreover, the way the list describes items as "Any Complete Season Set," it seems to imply that more sets are definitely on-the-way for single-release-so-far properties like
The Waltons, MadTV, Without a Trace, Dallas, etc. Of course, we're already aware of new season sets coming soon for some shows like
Dukes of Hazzard, Kung Fu, and next Tuesday's release of
Gilligan's Island - Season 2.
The really good news is that you have plenty of time to participate in this rebate offer. "A whole year," did you just guess? Nah...more! Warner is giving you until the end of June, 2006 to make your purchases for this promotion. It's the year of celebration that lasts a year-and-a-half...thanks, Warner!
...Oh, one other thing! Don't forget the other major promotion point in this celebration: Many of the new releases in 2005 (including all six of February's first-season sets) will feature a special bonus DVD with 1 or 2 episodes of shows from the Warner Television vaults. We don't know what the shows or episodes are yet, but we were told that those episodes on the bonus discs will be titles that aren't currently available on DVD. Consumers can collect all 15 discs throughout the year's four different launch waves in February, June, September and November. Here's what the bonus discs look like:
