Site News - TVShowsOnDVD's 'What's The Hold-up?' FAQ Moves to our Main Site, Gets Updates

New updates include info from the recent Warner Home Video chat, plus the 1996 Doctor Who telefilm

This past August we kicked off our Facebook fan page, and it's grown to 7850 friends and fans tuning into our page over there...thank you! One item we quickly implemented over there, in September 2009, was our "What's The Hold-up?" FAQ, in which we try to keep a list of which shows we know are NOT getting a DVD release anytime soon, where we also know WHY it's not happening. As we say in the FAQ's introduction, it's not a perfect list, but we do our best. We're grateful for the high praise we've gotten for our efforts thus far.

This morning we updated a dozen shows in the "What's The Hold-up?" FAQ, mostly with information obtained from last Monday's Warner Home Video/Home Theater Forum chat, but also with additional info, obtained by us separately (via our contacts at the BBC), about why the 1996 Doctor Who telefilm (starring Paul McGann as the 8th Doctor) should not be expected state-side. In the course of doing these important updates, we decided to make this info as visible as possible, and move it over here to the main TVShowsOnDVD website:

TVShowsOnDVD's "What's The Hold-up?" FAQ

For many of you, this will be an introduction to the FAQ, because it's been a little bit hidden away on the down-the-row tab "Notes" tab of our Facebook fan page (which you don't NEED to be a member of to access that FAQ...but let's face it, people who don't use Facebook probably aren't going to find it very easily). For those of you who are familiar with it, we hope you'll find that it's the same FAQ you're used to: no information from the main entries has been changed (although the above-mentioned updates have been added, of course). We've updated the intro text a bit to make more sense for a non-Facebook environment, and at the bottom we've added an "update log" so that our readers can track the latest changes since their last visit. All updates to the FAQ, which were previously recorded using Facebook's comments field, were put into the update log for the sake of continuity.

We'll soon be adding links to the "What's The Hold-up?" FAQ in both our "Articles" and "FAQs" sections, both of which are part of the main TVShowsOnDVD site menu (on the left-hand side of any of our page). Be sure to come back to the FAQ and visit often to check for updates, okay? And if you think YOU have information about why a particular show is not available on DVD, then please use the "contact us" form (links to that are found at the bottom of any of our pages) to fill us in on what you know, and if we can confirm the info then we'll consider adding it to the FAQ.

We hope this more-visible home for the "What's The Hold-up?" FAQ makes it a great resource for all of our readers!
