A couple of months ago we posted
this news roundup of misc. items, including a report from a pre-order catalog targeted at comic book retailers that
The Simpsons - Gone Wild would be a DVD release in July 2004, list-pricing at $14.98.
This sounds like a "best-of" release in the vein of last year's
Treehouse Of Horror and
Christmas With The Simpsons single-disc-shots. The problem was, there was nothing from Fox Home Video that verified this was coming out! Moreover, as time has past and the Fox July release schedule was revealed, this particular item never showed up....it certainly will NOT be out next month!
Well, Fox still hasn't made a formal announcement about this, but if you purchased last Tuesday's
Complete 4th Season box set, then it's likely you got an insert with it that shows the cover art for this release, and says that it's "Coming Soon".
A correct date and the actual contents still aren't known, here's a shot of that cover art:
There is an overseas release by the same name, but
recent events have proven to us that no matter what the release, no matter which studio it is, you can't trust releases from other regions to always be identical to a similarly-named Region 1 (North American) release.
