The number of
stalled series which are returning to DVD with new releases continues to grow! The folks at Shout! Factory have worked hard in acquiring licenses for this purpose, too, including yesterday's release of
Adam-12 - Season 2, and upcoming releases of
Spin City (previously only available as best-of's) and
Son of the Beach. Now they've done it again!
Shout! has exclusively informed us that they have licensed
Simon & Simon from Universal Studios Home Entertainment, and will pick up where that studio left off two years ago. In October 2006, USHE released
Simon & Simon - Season 1, but didn't continue with further season sets. Shout! Factory will remedy that situation on
February 10th, with
Simon & Simon - Season 2 on DVD.
Season 2 began with a cross-over episode featuring
Magnum P.I. stars Tom Selleck and John Hillerman, along with guest stars Morgan Fairchild and Joe Mantegna. Other guest stars during this season included Broderick Crawford, Alan Hale Jr., Hal Needham, Jonathan Banks, Ken Swofford, June Allyson, K.C. Winkler, Dick Butkus, Gary Crosby, Ray Walston, Eddie Albert, Tricia O'Neil, Patti Davis, Richard Anderson, Anne Lockhart, Dr. Joyce Brothers, Julia Duffy, Kathy Garver, Gerald S. O'Loughlin, Robert Englund, Cleavon Little, Susan Blu, Richard Kiel, and Dean Stockwell.
No further info is available so far; Shout! Factory only provided us with the title and the date. But stay tuned, and we'll update you as further developments occur!
