Lionsgate Entertainment has announced to retailers that a 1989 hour-long special titled "
Sesame Street - 20 Years And Still Counting" is getting a DVD release this summer. This disc, which hits stores on
July 6th, features the 47-minute production starring Bill Cosby (
The Cosby Show, Fat Albert) and Kermit the Frog (who got his start on
Sesame Street, but was later seen in shows such as
The Muppet Show and
Muppets Tonight!).
There are also guest appearances by Muppet creator Jim Henson, and musicians Ray Charles (singing "It's Not Easy Bein' Green" with a chorus of Muppets) and Placido Domingo (performing with his Muppet counterpart, Placido Flamingo).
