Ex-navy frogman, Mike Nelson, is a freelance scuba diver who outwits villains, salvages anything from a bicycle to a nuclear missile from the sea, and rescues those trapped under water. The series ignited the craze for recreational scuba diving at a time when it was still new. Each episode brought adventure and included pleas to viewers to understand and protect marine environment. Since no dialogue was possible in the under water sequences, Lloyd Bridges provided voice over narration. Sea Hunt became the most successful first-run syndicated TV show of all time.
