Robot Chicken - Star Wars comes to DVD in its own special release on
July 22nd, a release date delayed from mid-May. We've learned that the release date change was because the folks at Cartoon Network wanted to better tie in this item with the San Diego Comic-Con that's being held around the same time.
Some fans have wondered if it's worthwhile to get this separate release, though, thinking that it would be included in any eventual release of the show's 3rd Season on DVD. It seems that this has been addressed now by Erik Resnick, the Senior Director of Cartoon Network Enterprises, in a
recent story with trade journal

Robot Chicken: Star Wars follows the successful DVD release of the first two seasons of "Robot Chicken." Resnick said the "Star Wars" special will be a standalone DVD and the episode will not be included with the future third-season DVD release.
