Friday we
reported that the Sony Pictures Home Entertainment release of
Rescue Me - The Complete 4th Season would be on
June 3rd, according to retailer listings...including
a pre-order listing at Amazon.com. Amazon wasn't taking pre-orders at first, but is now since Sony officially announced the title this morning!
With that, we can confirm that it's only coming out on standard DVD at this time, but that a Blu-ray Disc release could happen at a later date. The DVDs are a 4-disc set running 560 minutes for 13 episodes, plus a long list of special features:
- Welcome To The Set
- Deleted Scenes
- Walking Through Fire: The Stories of Rescue Me Season 4
- Burned Out: Gag Reel
- Firehouse
- This Is Not A Drill: Breaking Down Episode 407
- Captains
- Tools of the Trade
- Burning Embers
Cost is $49.95 SRP, but you can lock it in as of this writing for just $34.99 if you pre-order at the Amazon links above or below. Video is 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen, audio is English 5.1 and there are English subtitles as well. Below we have the studio description (be careful; it seems sorta spoiler-ish to me!), followed by outer box art. Keep going down below that and you'll get a glimpse of the DVDs themselves, and the two disc cases that will hold them inside the pictured outer slip case:
An arson investigation following the beach house fire targets Tommy, Janet worries that her new baby doesn't like her, Colleen runs away from home, a not guilty verdict is delivered in Uncle Teddy's manslaughter trial, Jerry commits suicide, the crew from 62 Truck is savaged in the press for not being able to save seven children from dying in a tragic fire...it's another season of challenge and turbulence for Tommy and the guys.
