Last November we first
reported that
Perry Mason was finally in line for a DVD release. It's been a few months since then, but now we have something very solid to pass on! Jim Davidson, the founder and past president of "The National Association for the Advancement of
Perry Mason" (Jim also runs the
ClassicTVinfo.com website), has found out a tidbit from his own sources about the upcoming DVD of
Perry Mason - Season 1, Volume 1.
Jim has been told to expect that long-awaited DVD set to hit store shelves on
July 11th, with the first half of the first season (19 or 20 episodes, out of the 39 aired from that inaugural season). He was also told that there won't be any bonus material on this particular release, despite
a previous report otherwise. Just high-quality prints of these episodes from the enduring classic series. We are very grateful for the heads-up, Jim! Stay tuned for any further details, and cover art of course, when CBS/Paramount makes the formal announcement in the not-too-distant future.
