Order in the court! Or is it "order at the online shop" instead? We've gotten the inside info today that Warner Bros. is planning to continue their DVD releases with Judge Harold T. Stone and friends, While certain major retail chains are starting to resist stocking "retro" titles on store shelves, the studio knows that there are legions of passionate fans who want more seasons of the show! Toward that end, they are planning to make
Night Court - The Complete 4th Season available next month on DVD, as a manufacture-on-demand (MOD) title sold exclusively at the studio's online store,
The WBshop.com.
Don't go looking for it just yet! While Warner has lots of excellent TV-DVD titles available there, the fourth season of
Night Court won't be listing at that site until the release date. And they haven't set that date specifically just yet. Right now the plan is for
mid-September, but it could still move while everything gets finalized. We'll have that date, plus cost and cover art, just as soon as Warner Bros. makes that available.
The show's 4th season (out of 9 total) introduced Marsha Warfield as baliff Roz Russell, filling the spot left open after the death of cast member Florence Halop. The recurring character of Buddy Ryan ("...but I'm feeling MUCH better now!) was introduced in the season premiere, played by John Astin (
The Addams Family). Other guest stars this year include Fran Drescher, Nancy Parsons, Joe Regalbuto, Ann Turkel, Frank Bonner, Harold Gould, Bruce Kirby, Timothy Stack, Brandon Tartikoff (as himself), Mel Tormé (also as himself), Sela Ward, Teresa Ganzel, Stuart Pankin, Conchata Ferrell, K Callan, and Brent Spiner and Annie O'Donnell (as Bob and June Wheeler).
Stay tuned for further developments!
