Fans who watched
Heroes last night all seem to agree that the show is back up to full power, and just as full of suspense and surprises as ever! If you've been enjoying it lately, or if you've missed it and need to catch it on home video, then you'll be pleased to know that Amazon.com is already
taking pre-orders for
Heroes - Season 3 on DVD. This listing is only for the standard DVD, mind you, and there's not a separate listing yet for the season on high definition Blu-ray Disc. However, we definitely expect that to be forthcoming.
Heroes - Season 3 includes both the "Volume 3: Villains" and "Volume 4: Fugitives" story arcs, introducing new characters, and new abilities for old characters (while simultaneously scaling back some of the highest-end abilities that a few of them had, which was making it difficult to tell stories that didn't get overly outlandish). The "Fugitives" run has certainly been a game-changer in many ways, and features the return of first season writer Bryan Fuller (following the cancellation of his recent series,
Pushing Daisies). New cast members include Brea Grant (upcoming
H2: Halloween 2) and Ċ½eljko Ivanek (
Damages), and among the guest stars are George Takei, Bruce Boxleitner, William Katt, Malcom McDowell, Seth Green, Michael Dorn, John Glover, Swoosie Kurtz, and others that we probably shouldn't speak of without spoiling aspects of the stories for you.
That fills you in a bit about the current year of the show, which has three more episodes to go. But since Universal hasn't formally announced this title yet, there are no details or cover art (other than a temp "promo" shot at Amazon) available yet for
Heroes - Season 3. Amazon does show the cost of the DVD release, though: it's $59.98 SRP, and currently you can pre-purchase it at a discount down to $38.99 (subject to change at Amazon's discretion, without notice). When more information comes to light about this set, and its Blu-ray version, we'll certainly be there to update you further. Stay tuned!
