A few weeks ago we posted a (reliable) rumor that the first season of Gunsmoke would be released on DVD. CBS/Paramount have just formally announced the title will be released on the previously-reported July 17. Details are slim right now, but we can tell you the 39 season 1 episodes will run 1,051 mins.
