Remember we had talked about the trio of Gunsmoke reunion telefilms that were coming in May? Now Paramount has sent over the details about each of these CBS releases in "The Gunsmoke Move Collection". Long-time TVShowsOnDVD readers know that TV-movies aren't our usual cup of tea, but this one is an exception. Why? Because fans of this beloved show are sure to be excited that some sort of DVDs are coming out, even if they aren't yet for the main series itself (which ran for 20 years!). Here's the info about these DVDs, which represent 3 of the five post-series telefilms which were made: GUNSMOKE: RETURN TO DODGE (1987) James Arness rides again as Matt Dillon, the sheriff made popular in the 1955-1975 hit Western TV series. Also starring Amanda Blake as Kitty Russell and Buck Taylor as Newly O'Brien, GUNSMOKE: RETURN TO DODGE picks up where the television series leaves off, in a lawless land ruled by the gun. Running Time: 113 minutes. Pre-Order from Amazon, DVDEmpire, or DVDPlanet. GUNSMOKE: THE LAST APACHE (1990) Matt Dillon (James Arness) goes after a renegade Apache named Wolf (Joe Lara) who has taken his daughter captive, a daughter he didn't know he had until now. GUNSMOKE: THE LAST APACHE also stars Richard Kiley as Army scout Chalk Brighton, who helps Dillon in his mission. Running Time: 94 minutes. Pre-Order from Amazon, DVDEmpire, or DVDPlanet. GUNSMOKE: TO THE LAST MAN (1992) We once again find James Arness as Matt Dillon, righting the wrongs in the Wild West. This time trying his hand at cattle ranching, Dillon finds himself in the middle of a range war as he attempts to regain the cattle that were stolen from his farm. Running Time: 92 minutes. Pre-Order from Amazon, DVDEmpire, or DVDPlanet. All three are in full screen video format, with Dolby Digital Stereo English and Spanish Mono audio, and are closed-captioned for the hearing-impaired. When they arrive on May 11th, expect an S.R.P. of $14.99 (C$15.99 in Canada). These three Gunsmoke DVDs will also be available in a 3-pack. It has no suggested retail price, but is expected to be priced by retailers for around $25 in the U.S. and around C$30 in Canada. It's also available for pre-order from Amazon, DVDEmpire, or DVDPlanet. So far, the only cover art available is for The The Last Man. Here it is:
