Created by and starring Lena Dunham ("Tiny Furniture"), the show is a comic look at the assorted humiliations and rare triumphs of a group of girls in their early 20s. Dunham wrote and directed the pilot of the series, which she executive produces along with Judd Apatow and Jenni Konner. The cast also includes Jemima Kirke, Allison Williams, Adam Driver and Zosia Mamet. Episodes were shot in New York. The ten-episode season debuted in 2012.
This past April, May and June saw HBO's debut of the comedy series, and now Amazon.com has begun taking pre-orders for
Girls - The Complete 1st Season on both
DVD and high-def
Blu-ray Disc. These listings are in advance of the official HBO Video announcement for these items, though, so instead of a street date Amazon only says "
This title has not yet been released. You may pre-order it now and we will deliver it to you when it arrives." Pricing is available, however, currently showing $39.98 SRP for the standard DVD and $49.99 SRP for the Blu-ray (you can, of course, lock in your copy right away at a discounted price, if you order it using either of the above links). There are no other details available so far at Amazon's entries, nor is there cover art yet. Stay tuned, of course, and we'll update you further on this title, just as soon as we find out anything more!
