BBC Video has announced that on
June 12 they will release
Top Gear - The Complete Season 18 on DVD in North America. The 3-disc set will include an India Special, per the studio-provided package art shown below. Running 406 minutes, the collection is presented in anamorphic widescreen video, English Dolby Surround 5.1 audio, and English subtitles. Cost is $24.98 SRP.
Sharp-eyed readers will have certainly noticed by now that we haven't mentioned a Blu-ray Disc version of
The Complete Season 18. Every season of this show has had a high-def BD release since the
Season 14 set came out. The announcement so far this morning, which we received through the BBC North American distributor Warner Home Video, hasn't included a Blu version of the
Season 18 title...but honestly, we believe this is a temporary oversight, and that a Blu-ray version can be expected day-and-date with the DVD set. Where does our confidence come from? Because the BBC America online studio store shows both versions - DVD and Blu - are in the works. Stay tuned and we'll bring you more about that, just as soon as we can!
