Aimee and Doyle were a couple of normal Earth kids who got sent as exchange students to
Galaxy High School, a 13-episode animated series that ran on CBS Saturday mornings starting in the Fall of 1986. The show was created by Chris Columbus (
Gremlins, The Goonies, Mrs. Doubtfire, Harry Potter), and starred the voices of Susan Blu (
Beast Wars, Beast Machines), Hal Rayle (
Transformers), Nancy Cartwright (
The Simpsons, Kim Possible), and Pat Carroll (
Make Room For Daddy, The Little Mermaid). The show's memorable theme song was by Don Felder of The Eagles.
AnimeWorks, a division of Media Blasters and the folks who brought
Invader Zim to DVD, will begin releasing
Galaxy High School this summer. According to our friends
at RightStuf.com, the first DVD will be available on
June 27th for a list price of $9.99. Reports elsewhere say that this will contain seven of the thirteen episodes from the show, but we haven't seen confirmation of that episode count yet. Stay tuned, though, and we'll be back with more info and cover art just as soon as we get them!
