Forever - Could DVDs Be In-The-Works for ABC's Recent Single-Season Show?

The creator and co-executive producer answered a tweet, and said...

Posted by David Lambert
During the 2014-15 broadcast season, the ABC network aired the Warner Bros.-produced TV series Forever, starring Ioan Gruffudd (the Fantastic Four films, the Hornblower series of telefilms) as "Dr. Henry Morgan," Alana de la Garza (Law & Order) as "Detective Jo Martinez," Judd Hirsch (Taxi, Numb3rs, Independence Day) as "Abe Morgan," and Burn Gorman (Torchwood, Game of Thrones, Turn: Washinton's Spies) in a recurring role as "Adam." The show ran for a single season of 22 episodes, but unfortunately wasn't renewed.

Fans of the show who thought the world of the program (myself and my wife included) have been hoping for a DVD release of the short-lived series, and one such fan - Lucy Smith - posted a question on Twitter yesterday, asking show creator Matt Miller the question, "when will the #Forever DVD be released??" Just five minutes later, Miller tweeted back a terrific response:

So the creator and co-executive producer of Forever is currently understanding that the entire show, with Deleted Scenes, will be available on DVD in the USA before Christmas 2015. Since Warner Home Video hasn't announced the title yet, and usually would have within a ninety-day window of the street date (which is roughly how far out we are) if it's a traditional in-store release, then we wonder if this may possible be a title coming out via the Warner Archive MOD program. Or, maybe not...perhaps it will get announced within the next week or two. A third possibility is that the studio plans may have changed (pushed back, or whatever) and they haven't updated him with the latest info our site's 14 year history, we've certainly seen that sort of thing before!

Our thanks to reader Steven Lesser for the heads-up about the tweets, and we certainly hope to bring you more information about this soon. Take it with a grain of salt for now, though, until the official studio announcement comes in. Stay tuned for updates, as they occur!
