The Facts of Life - 'The Complete Series' is Coming to DVD from Shout! Factory **UPDATED**

The exciting news was announced over the weekend at SDCC2014

Posted by David Lambert
In a brief but exciting announcement at the San Diego Comic Con 2014 this past weekend, and confirmed with an equally brief tweet Friday night, Shout! Factory says to expect them to release The Facts of Life - The Complete Series on DVD. The sitcom, spun off from Diff'rent Strokes, ran for 9 seasons but only five of them have been released on DVD so far (from 2006 to 2010, with the first two seasons getting re-released by Mill Creek earlier this year).

Now Shout! has apparently reached a licensing deal with Sony to complete this show on disc at last, with all 209 episodes starring "Blair," "Natalie" and "Tootie" (the only three characters who appeared throughout the show's entire run). Charlotte Rae and Nancy McKeon were the other big stars of the show, but recurring cast members also included Cloris Leachman (The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Raising Hope), George Clooney (ER, Ocean's Eleven), Molly Ringwald (16 Candles, The Breakfast Club), Pamela Segall (Californication, King of the Hill), Mackenzie Astin (Grey's Anatomy, Lost), and Geri Jewell (Deadwood), among others.

We don't have details or a release date for The Complete Series release yet, but stay tuned and we'll update you as further developments occur. Our thanks to the MANY readers who emailed us over the weekend - there were more of you than we could count! - to make sure we saw this info in Shout!'s social media feeds.

UPDATE: Shout! is now tweeting word that this item won't be out until 2015. Stay tuned!
