It's been a little while since we had a
Dukes of Hazzard update for y'all -
November to be exact - so we thought it was time to bring you up-to-speed.
Ben Jones, who played "Cooter" on the show, runs a website called "Cooter's Place" (as well as a store by the same name on the main Parkway in
lovely Gatlinburg, Tennessee, a town I highly recommend for people who want a wonderful time nestled next to the Smokey Mountains).
In
this bit posted at Jones' website, we see that the DVDs are progressing and might even be a bit ahead of schedule:
Cooter will be in Los Angeles, California with the "Dukes of Hazzard" cast taping interviews for the DVD release of the series. The DVD should be completed and released in the spring of 2004.
This is an undated post, though, and might be as much as a couple of months old...so take the "Spring" thing with a grain of salt. We heard "Summer" the last time we checked.
Either way, it's good to know that the cast is involved with the extras, and it will be great to hear the guitar licks of Waylon Jennings' memorable theme song once more as the General Lee rides again. Stay tuned for more; this series is an old favorite of mine and I'll be excited to bring you updates as we get them!
Our thanks to Ben Koehn for tipping us off to the information.
