Drawn Together - Final Release Date Revealed for DTV DVD of 'The Drawn Together Movie: The Movie!'

Formally scheduled by Comedy Central and distributor Paramount for April 20th

Posted by David Lambert
"The Drawn Together Movie: The Movie!" stars the incorrigible cast of the most hilarious animated reality show ever to air on basic cable. When the mystery-solving musician, Foxxy, notices she and her fellow housemates can curse without being bleeped - something they've never been able to do before - they realize that their show has been cancelled. Determined to get back on the air, they venture to such far-off lands as Bedrock, a Fairy Tale Village and the fantastical Make-a-Point Land, all the while outrunning their enemies who are hell-bent on keeping them off the air, and are prepared to use any means necessary to do so.

"The Drawn Together Movie: The Movie!" is bigger, badder and uncensored, and certainly lives up to its tainted heritage and provides the audience with a not-so-healthy heaping of what everyone has come to know and secretly love from the show. Namely, copious amounts of drunken-revelry, taboo-busting and cartoon-on-cartoon violence.
Last July a press release was sent out by Comedy Central and Paramount Home Entertainment, announcing to the media and fans alike that production had begun on "The Drawn Together Movie: The Movie!, a direct-to-video follow-up to the popular animated "reality series" which broadcast new episodes from 2004 to 2007. The studio description above was taken from last summer's press release, at a time when the expectation was that "The Movie!" would be available to own in March 2010.

Today the folks at Comedy Central/Paramount officially announced the DVD release of The Drawn Together Movie: The Movie!, giving very little initial info about it but saying that it would be a 70-minute widescreen feature, that will arrive on April 20th. So far that is ALL that we know about it; pricing and package art (among other details) have not been made available yet. But stay tuned, and we'll update you as soon as we know more!
