Join the Doctor, his companions Amy and Rory (a.k.a. the Ponds) and numerous friends on their latest escapades through space and time, where they puzzle an unexpected invasion of Earth, save a spaceship full of dinosaurs, don Stetsons in a Wild West adventure, and are even kidnapped by the Doctor's oldest foe. The explosive series breaks off with Amy and Rory's heart-breaking farewell: a race against time through the streets of Manhattan. Will the Doctor really lose the Ponds forever? There's only one way to find out!
Early this month we reported that Doctor Who - The 7th Series, Part 1 is coming to DVD and Blu-ray Disc in time for the show's half-season break this winter. Today the BBC announced a November 13th street date for this title, pricing it at $24.98 SRP for the DVD version and $29.98 SRP for the BD set.
Both 2-disc sets will come with the season's first 5 episodes (including two that have been renamed since our previous report): "Asylum of the Daleks," "Dinosaurs on a Spaceship," "A Town Called Mercy," "The Power of Three" and "The Angels Take Manhattan." Extras announced by the studio include "The Science of Doctor Who," "Doctor Who at Comic Con," and Bonus Scenes.
Below we have an early look at the covers for this title (as you can see, it's marked "Artwork Not Final," so it could be subject to change). Underneath those, in case you've missed it, are the 5 parts (each a minute or so long) to "Pond Life," this week's preview mini-adventure, which have been released one per day this past Monday through Friday (today), and which is a lead-in to the Series 7 debut tomorrow on BBC America in the United States, and the Space channel in Canada. Who's on the loo? Not who you'd expect!
