From 2003 to 2005, every year on the dot around the late August/early September timeframe Classic Media (through their distributor at the time, the long-defunct SonyWonder) would release a DVD season set of "
Rocky & Bullwinkle & Friends," the umbrella name for both
The Rocky Show and
The Bullwinkle Show (here at TVShowsOnDVD, we just call it "
The Bullwinkle Show" in our database, for the sake of simplicity). In 2006, fans expected a fourth season set to follow up on the first three...but we haven't heard a peep about it in all that time.
Until now, that is! Today Classic Media and their distributor, Vivendi Entertainment, informed retailers that on
August 17th they will at last release "
Rocky & Bullwinkle & Friends - Season 4" (a.k.a.
The Bullwinkle Show - Season 4) on DVD. They're trying to get it out before the animated moose and squirrel's 50th Anniversary celebration is over, with 19 episodes on 2 discs running approximately 418 minutes. Pricing and other details haven't been made available yet; the only other details mentioned are full screen video and English audio. Nor do we have package art at this time, so stay tuned for an update with that. In the meantime, here's the studio's description of the set:
