Fans of
Bugs Bunny/The Looney Tunes come in all types, from hard-core passionate fans who want to own every cartoon, short, film, and documentary out there...to casual, lighter fans who just like a laugh now and then. Warner Home Video has, over the years, endeavored to put out DVDs of all sorts, to satisfy every kind of fan. That includes budget-priced titles, but today they've announced what will certainly clock as as the most price-conscious
Looney DVDs of them all!
On
March 6th Warner will release both
Looney Tunes: Unleashed and
Looney Tunes: The Best of Bugs Bunny. Each single-disc title contains 3 cartoons originally produced as theatrical shorts between 1949 and 1963. Both DVDs, according to the rear package art shown below, run approximately 20 minutes long and are presented with video aspect ratio preserving their original theatrical appearances (IF we're interpreting that correctly!), and with English mono sound and subtitles in English and French.
Cost is $9.97 SRP each, and the
Looney Tunes: Unleashed disc contains the shorts "
Apes of Wrath," "
Stork Naked" and "
Bad Ol' Putty Tat." The
Looney Tunes: The Best of Bugs Bunny DVD includes "
The Million-Hare," "
Napoleon Bunny-Part" and "
Knighty Knight Bugs." All six of those cartoons have previously been released on DVD; however for some of these this might turn out to be their first appearance on disc in their original theatrical aspect ratio (we're trying to find that out for certain). Here's the packaging for both titles, front and rear:
