Batman: The Brave and the Bold - Volume 3 Street Date, Price, Contents, Front and Rear Packaging

Single-DVD release brings us 5 new episodes, including the two-parter vs. the Owlman

Posted by David Lambert
Often outmatched in powers but never in wits, Batman and fellow DC Comics super heroes Green Arrow, Aquaman, Bronze Tiger and The Atom take down villians of all shapes and sizes in this entralling collection, like the larger-than-life humanoid Despero and the microscopic toxin in Batman's bloodstream that could be deadly.

Just when "Bats" thinks he has this universe under control, he discovers a parallel world where Batman is the villainous Owlman! It will take all his cunning and courage to defeat this evil counterpart, especially when Owlman travels to Gotham City and convinces our world that Batman has turned criminal. So many heroes, so little time to showcase all the thrills from the hip and funny new animated series that has fans flying high!
With the second release still a few weeks away, Warner Home Video has gotten a jump on the situation by announcing a February 2nd DVD release for Batman: The Brave and the Bold - Volume 3. This single disc release will cost $14.97 and come with these 5 episodes which bring us to the halfway mark of the first season :
  1. The Journey to the Center of the Bat!
  2. The Eyes of Despero!
  3. Return of the Fearsome Fangs!
  4. Deep Cover for Batman! (Part 1)
  5. Game Over for Owlman! (Part 2)
Video will be widescreen, and audio will be English Dolby Surround 5.1 and Spanish Dolby Surround 5.1. There will also be English and French subtitles. Running time is 115 minutes. No special features are included, per se, but some of Warner's announcement info says it will include "a bonus episode." However, that apparently just refers to the fact that this release contains 5 episodes, while the previous two DVDs for this show contain 4 episodes each. Here's a look at the front and rear package art (which, as you see, doesn't mention any bonus episodes...just the same list of five that we've provided above):
