A month ago we
reported on some of the details about Lionsgate's
October 21 release of
According to Jim - The Complete 1st Season. That info, which the studio had made available to retailers (and which was passed along to us), had included basic specs, and the fact that extras would be on board...but no description about what they would be.
Now we've gotten new details about this release from an industry source, who tells us that the specs initially released by the studio were not accurate. We're told that the show was shot with protection for HDTV widescreen in mind from the start. Those HDTV masters are being used to produce these DVDs in anamorphic widescreen. Furthermore, we've found out that the audio will be presented in English 5.1 (not 2.0, as previously reported), and that a Spanish 5.1 track will also be included as an option.
