Vince Faraday (David Lyons, TV's "E.R.") is an honest cop on a corrupt police force. But when he's framed for murder and presumed dead, he finds that he must go into hiding, leaving behind his wife, Dana (Jennifer Ferrin, TV's "Life on Mars"), and son, Trip (Ryan Wynott, TV's "Flash Forward"). Determined to battle the criminals who now control his hometown, Vince takes the law into his own hands and becomes The Cape-his son's favorite comic book superhero. Featuring an incredible supporting cast, including James Frain (TV's "The Tudors"), Keith David (Death at a Funeral), Summer Glau (TV's "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles"), Dorian Missick (The Manchurian Candidate), Martin Klebba (Pirates of the Caribbean) and Vinnie Jones (Snatch), it's the action-packed series that has critics raving, "'The Cape' is cloaked in awesome." (OK! Magazine).
After NBC cut their order for the freshman drama from 13 down to 10 episodes, this past month they decided to transmit the final episode over at their website, rather than via traditional broadcast. They haven't officially said it was cancelled, but things sure didn't look good for the series. Now NBC- Universal seems to be confirming that this show is over, as they have announced to retailers today to expect a July 5th DVD release titled "The Cape - The Complete Series." The 2-disc set running 371 minutes will be presented in anamorphic widescreen video, English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound, and with English subtitles. No extras have been mentioned at this time, nor is a Blu-ray version of this title planned. Cost is $29.98 SRP, and here's a look at the packaging:
