In the middle of last week we
reported that Fox Home Entertainment is coming out with
Glee - Season 1, Volume 2: Road to Regionals, the 3-DVD set with the final nine episodes of the show's freshman season. It's Fox's follow-up to their late-2009 release of
Glee - Season 1, Volume 1: Road to the Sectionals, which had the first 13 episodes of the season, plus a nice list of bonus material.
In our original report we passed along the early word that Fox planned to make
Season 1, Volume 2: Road to Regionals a bare-bones set, with no extras on it. Instead the new extras would be found on
Glee - The Complete 1st Season, coming to
DVD and on high-def
Blu-ray Disc on the same date as "
Road to Regional:
September 14th (and additionally available for
a $10 rebate). We've learned today, however, that keeping extras off the
Volume 2 set is no longer the plan!
The other day we
updated you with word that a single "extra" would be on the
Volume 2 set: a "
Glee Music Jukebox" on all three discs, to help you quickly navigate to your favorite songs. We were premature, it turns out, to tell you that would be the only one! The studio and their PR team has followed up with us today, and informed us that it was just the tip of the iceberg. Fox wants fans to feel rewarded for supporting the show with their purchases of the
Season 1, Volume 1 DVD set that was released last December, no matter if their next home video release purchase for the program is
The Complete 1st Season on DVD or Blu, or the
Season 1, Volume 2: Road to Regionals on DVD. Therefore, the
Volume 2 DVD set will indeed be chock full of bonus material. Here's the list of what you'll get:
- Glee Music Juke Box
- Glee Sing-Along Karaoke
- Staying in Step With Glee
- Sue's Corner
- Bite Their Style: Dress Like Your Favorite Gleek
- Behind the Scenes of the Madonna Episode
- Making of a Showstopper
The cost has NOT been affected by these additions; the list price of the
Glee - Season 1, Volume 2: Road to Regionals DVD set is still showing as $39.98 SRP. Our thanks to Fox Home Entertainment and their PR people for getting the word to us about this, so we could spread it to you. And a pat on the back to the studio for making the right decision about this, too! If you haven't pre-ordered your
Glee release of choice for mid-September, then just click the Amazon button link and pick the version you prefer!
