Yesterday we
reported about the announcement from Warner Home Video (WHV) for
Saturday Morning Cartoons: 1980's Vol 1, a 2-DVD set coming out on
May 4th. Yesterday we had front package art (seen again at the bottom) for this title, showing that the release's content would come from such classic animated shows as
The Flintstone Kids, Mister T, Dragon's Lair, Thundarr the Barbarian, Monchichis and
The Kwicky Koala Show (from the legendary Tex Avery, just prior to his death).
Thundarr fans also get a great bonus with the extra featurette called "Lords of Light!:
Thundarr the Barbarian.
Now the studio has provided the rear box art as well (see it just below), which also mentions shows such as
Chuck Norris: Karate Kommandos, The Completely Mental Misadventures of Ed Grimley, Galtar and the Golden Lance and
The Biskitts. With the previously-known programs, that adds up to 10 shows...but wait, the box front says there are 11 shows!
We're not sure what the other one is, since it's not pictured or mentioned in the text on the package, and other studio-provided material doesn't say, either. We'll try to find out, though! Hey, our thanks to reader Greg Brobeck, who pointed us toward the fine print at the bottom of the rear cover art: it tells us that the 11th show included on this set is
Goldie Gold & Action Jack. We appreciate it, Greg, and our apologies for overlooking the obvious!
