Almost a month ago now we brought you
the scoop about
Dollhouse - Season 1 on
DVD and
Blu-ray Disc, letting you in on the release date of
July 28th and all the details - specs, contents and extras - for the versions of this release on both home video formats. This morning Fox Home Entertainment has formally announced this title to retailers, confirming that date and every detail in the process. They've also provided the official package art, which we've got for you below.
Note that these pictures are only for the retail versions, and not necessarily for the numbered Limited Edition releases that Fox will be selling at the San Diego Comic Con, which we
reported about yesterday. No official word on those have come in yet, but we've heard some unofficial things which we'll just mention (but please take with a grain of salt, as we don't have confirmation on this info). We said these would be in the DVD format; we hear that there will be Blu-ray format Limited Edition releases there as well, but possibly in smaller quantities. We said there would be a letter from show creator Joss Whedon included; one source insists that it will come on "funky spy paper" that mimics a prop in the show (I'll refrain from describing that, though, to avoid spoilers).
